BackPack Program - Food Bank of Iowa
We are committed to helping the youth in our community. We support them by giving a monthly financial donation to the Food Bank of Iowa. They provide free sacks of food for students to eat over the weekend. The elementary school helps in the distribution process and the church provides pick-up and the delivery of the needed bagged meals throughout the school year.
DMARC
DMARC is an acronym for Des Moines Area Religious Council.
DMARC works with over 125 member congregations from five different faith traditions.
Their mission is working together to meet basic human needs for the greater Des Moines community. The Food Pantry Network is our link to DMARC.
DMARC partners with 14 food pantry sites around the metro area to provide food for people who request it, and operates additional Mobile Food Pantry sites as well.
Giving 10% of our offering to support our Christian Church of the Upper Midwest
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Upper Midwest is made up of 154 congregations from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. Our mission is to serve together as a Body of Christ and welcome all at the table. The Upper Midwest Region hosts a beautiful Christian Conference Center in Newton, Iowa where young and old gather for camps and retreats. This is also the location of the Regional Office.
